We took four teams to the National Basketball Championships for the first time. We had U15 girls, U15 Boys, U17 boys, and U19 girls. The championships were held in Lautoka for the second year running. The students stayed in a Retreat Centre near Nadi for the entirety of the competition.
Under 15 Girls
The U15 girls had been selected as a development team and we are hopeful they will flourish over the coming years. The students performed with enthusiasm and were very committed to the cause. Although they did not win a game they left with great credit and will be a force to be reckoned with in future competitions.

Under 17 Boys
The U17 Boys have played for a number of years and are a strong outfit They finished the second day of qualifications unbeaten and set up a repeat of last year’s semi-final against Yat Sen. The semi-final proved to be one match too much and the boys lost a very tense game. They will be back stronger next year for the experience.

Under 19 Girls
The U19 girls entered the tournament with a number of players new to the sport. They needed to win their final group game to proceed but unfortunately fell short by two points. The team will need more players next year but I am sure they will improve for the experience.

Under 15 Boys
The U15 Boys had a stellar season in the qualifiers and looked strong going into the nationals. The boys themselves remained calm and played some excellent basketball throughout the event. They too finished unbeaten in the group stage and went into the semifinals with increased confidence. They came through that game to play Tilok who were the surprise other finalists. ISS triumphed in the final to be the 2024 national champions for the U15 age group.
