April 30, 2025Red Cross First Aid and CPR Training for ISS Teachers and Staff 2024
We have been in partnership with Red Cross Fiji for the past three years. They provide First Aid and CPR training for all our teachers and staff. At this training teachers and staff are equipped with the knowledge and skills to provide immediate assistance in first aid and safety practices. In line with Red Cross outcomes the following are achieved:
- Prompt Response Saves Lives: Staff at ISS learn to respond promptly and effectively. From administering CPR to controlling bleeding or managing the safety of students these lifesaving techniques can make all the difference before professional help arrives especially when we are at camp or on excursions with our children.
- Preventing Further Injuries: First Aid training not only focuses on responding to emergencies but also emphasizes preventive measures in different circumstances.
- Building Resilient Communities: We foster a culture of preparedness and resilience within our school community.
- Confidence and Empowerment: The knowledge of first aid and safety techniques not only benefits others but also instills a sense of confidence and empowerment in individuals. We attend many sporting and cultural events along with our students and staff accompanying them who need these first aid and safety skills.
- Versatile Life Skills: Participants learn essential life skills that can be applied in various situations. These skills include effective communication, problem-solving and decision-making under pressure.
By investing time and effort in learning these vital first aid and safety skills, our staff and teachers, as individuals, become invaluable assets not only in our ISS community but in the greater Suva community. The training is held at school and over two days. Red Cross First Aid and CPR Certification is valid for up to three years.
