The MYP Personal Project Exhibition 2026 was a wonderful celebration of student voice, creativity and independent learning at International School Suva. This year, 41 inspiring projects came together to showcase the diverse interests, ideas and passions of our students.

From culture, heritage and the arts to innovation, science, philosophy, food, sports and service, the exhibition highlighted the breadth of interests within our student community. Each project was unique, reflecting a personal connection to a topic and giving students the opportunity to explore something meaningful to them.

The Personal Project is an important opportunity for students to take greater ownership of their learning. Throughout the process, students identified an area of personal interest, established clear goals, developed success criteria and worked independently to bring their ideas to life.

Along the way, they applied and strengthened their Approaches to Learning (ATL) skills, including research, communication, self-management, critical thinking and reflection.

The journey was about much more than the final product displayed at the exhibition. Students encountered challenges, adapted their ideas, solved problems and reflected on their progress. Through these experiences, they developed greater resilience and confidence in their own abilities.

A highlight of the Personal Project journey was the opportunity for students to share their work with the wider ISS community.

Parents, guardians, fellow students and teachers came together for the exhibition, taking time to explore the projects and speak directly with students about their ideas, processes and learning.

The questions, conversations and encouragement from our community added another valuable dimension to the experience. Students were able to explain not only what they created, but also the thinking, research, challenges and personal growth behind their work.

The exhibition was a wonderful reminder that meaningful learning is driven by curiosity, supported by community and strengthened when students are given opportunities to pursue their passions.

We are incredibly proud of the commitment, creativity and perseverance demonstrated by our students throughout their Personal Project journey.
